Introducing our beautiful new 2019 Story theme and Collection ‘Broken Nature, the beauty of time. This wonderful story has been adapted from a Strong trend within the Surface Design and Interior world about Nature, which sees Organic Materials translate into surfaces for walls and lighting. These also bring comforting textures indoors. The thought process behind this look is a healing process between humans and nature, as we heal our rifts with Nature and fill our own spaces with more humble and authentic tones. We invite imperfections, and embrace worn and weathered looks. These Worn items still look fantastic against new and modern. Optimism and peace is restored. Influences are taken also from the Japanese art of Kintsugi which brings new beauty to broken items by filing the cracks and scars with Gold. Also Wabi-Sabi which is another Japanese tradition based on seeing the world and accepting it as Imperfect and Not forever. This Aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.
Quote Novacolor Italy –
«The imperfect, impermanent and incomplete beauty». An ancient, yet very actual, concept from the Japanese philosophy of the wabi-sabi based
on the acceptance of things’ impermanence. Wabi identifies simplicity, freshness, silence, the elegance of spontaneity. Sabi is the beauty or serenity
that goes along with ageing.
Novacolor embraces this concept which opens the door to an image that ranges from beauty to the need of a change to preserve it. Novacolor’s goal for this new year is to concentrate its efforts in this direction. This means the attempt to influence responsively the consumer’ habits and a radical change of the manufacturing processes with the creation of more «naturally imperfect yet beautiful products».
Novacolor presents this trend beautifully using Venetian Plaster finishes in Natural Colours, textures and Pure Metals. The new images and finishes are shown and described below.
Key colours for Aw2019 Interiors and Surfaces are Stone over Grey, Cinnamon’s, Chocolates, Rust, Auburn, Dark Greens and Mint levels and Teal.
Archi & Pietra, This is a new Nova-Color Lime-based powder coating for interiors, based on hydraulic lime with stone effect. This image shows Archi & Pietra used on an interior Feature Wall in a Soft Natural Stone/Taupe Colorway. It looks like a Natural Stone wall with the textured indents and markings yet due to the colour it adds warmth to the room.
